김성진 거대한 입술 2007_1205 ▶ 2007_1223 갤러리 현대www.galleryhyundai.com 갑자기들, 페인팅에 극사실주의 열풍이 부는 듯. 안성하의 사탕에 이어...이른바 포토리얼리즘 기법에 입각한 이 그림은 사진과 회화의 사이에서 진동한다. 작가는 모델의 입술 부근을 사진 촬영한 후 이를 기본으로 해서 그 위에 자신의 상상력을 얹혀 입술풍경을 만들었다. 여러 모델의 다양한 입술 모양을 렌즈 가득히 클로즈 업 했는데 극대화된 이 대상은 작가 내면의 표현으로 감상하는 이와 작가를 연결하는 기호가 된다. 실감나게 그려진 입술의 형태(이미지)는 작가에게 일종의 상징이자 시각 언어다. 작가는 화면상에 주제와 상징의 징후가 되는 극대화된 입술 이미지만을 나타내고 나머지는 생략하여 여백으로 남겨두었다... 2007. 12. 8.
